Staying Focused is like being totally in the NOW…  Present…. Committed.  

Thats what being and staying focused can do.  It allows you to create massive results. 

We all have strategies that serve us to carry out our daily routines.. some of them may not be the most positive means to help up Stay Focused.   Particularly if losing focus is one strategy you use to avoid Success. 

 

A MESSAGE FROM THE SECRET

If you have ever watched The Secret by Rhonda Byrne you will remember the chapter on thoughts becoming things.  What you focus on you get.   You need to be clear with your thinking so that the result can be achieved.   Focus not only with your mind – but also with your thoughts and feelings.

Being aware of what your thinking is an art that takes time to master.       This also works with your subconscious mind.

What are your thoughts on money, wealth, success, learning new things, changing your life.

Be careful what you think – it may be holding you back.  When you focus on all the awful things in your life – or the lack of things – you then begin to feel inadequate

Listen to what the world is telling you – because when you are open or in need of a change – opportunities present –  but if you are not awake to them – they pass you straight buy. 

Its one thing to be alert to new opportunities – its another to act on them..  however the first step is to be open minded to suggestions, ideas, new things. 

THE IMPORTANCE OF STAYING FOCUSED

Learning how to focus better enables you to be in the Now.  To be aware of what is going on around you and conscious of what action to take to accomplish your desired outcome. 

When you are able to stay engaged with your plan,  and keep your mind on the job it drives your passion.  Your vision becomes clearer and clearer on the steps you need to take to succeed. 

Knowing what it is that is your passion.. the thing that will get you out of bed even after you have more money than you know what to do with, or if you are sick.. gives you a clear focus.   It also assists you to stay focused and engaged in the activities that truly matter.

When you focus on what truly matters to you  – you can create a plan.  You are able to work out the steps to take to make things happen. 

 STRATEGIES TO GET AND STAY FOCUSED.

1.       Have Clear Priorities…  

2.       Miniminise Interuptions

3.       Stop Procrastination

4.       Say No

5.       Plan

6.       Use systems

1.  HAVE CLEAR PRIORITIES

If you are clear on the success you wish to create you can concentrate your efforts in the direction of your goal.

Clear Priorities allows you to:

                     Commit to the goal

                     Take massive action

                     Gain Personal Momentum

                     Maintain Direction

People are attracted to those who have a clear vision of the direction and success they wish to achieve.

In the Network Marketing industry, having clear defined reasons WHY you are seeking success is the thing that drives you.  You need to have a reason to push through all those times

when it feels like it's just a waste of time, and you need to have a bigger reason WHY – so you continue doing what you do, after you are successful… otherwise you will achieve the goal and quit. 

2.  MINIMISE INTERUPTIONS

Interruptions break momentum.  It takes about 6 minutes to regain focus when you are distracted.   Learn how to rebuild your attention span and focus so that Interruptions do not hold you back.

We often set ourselves up to fail simply because of interruptions taking our attention away from the things that we need to complete.  Learn how to focus on what truly matters until the job gets done.    Try to rebuild your attention span, so as to minimize interruptions.   

We can be very creative when it comes to avoiding that which we need to do.

List out all of your interruption techniques. Here’s a start..  

  • the telephone 
  • Coffee and food
  • Visitors
  • The Internet  (ban facebook!!)
  • Noise

3.  STOP PROCRASTINATION

Ohh my favorite..     The art of refraining from making a choice so as not to fail…. Or get hurt/embarrassed.

Yet in doing nothing we DO…   Often the simple act of avoiding making a decision is in itself a decision.  With dire consequences.

Another reason we procrastinate is because we want things to be perfect.   We are not prepared to do something and keep working on it.  It has to be right first time. 

 Never let perfect get in the way of better!.

4.  SAY NO

 One of the factors that really gets in the way of staying focused is that we tend to take on waaaayyy too much.  Every sparkly thing that comes along distracts us – or we feel that we can’t let people down.. so we just keep saying “yes sure”!

 

REBUILD YOUR ATTENTION SPAN..

If you understand how you learn, you will then be able to find the best solution to staying focused.

There are 3 different styles of learning as defined by Fleming.

  • Visual
  • Auditory
  • Kinesthetic.

 All have different strengths and ways to stay engaged.

Knowing your method of learning allows you to stay engaged, and know how to concentrate, helping you to keep your mind on the job.

STRATEGIES TO STAY ENGAGED

       Move Clutter

       Read in an organized place

       Select an area that is quiet and where there is no activity

       Get comfortable – don’t be hungry, thirsty, too hot, too        cold.. these will all  affect your ability to focus.

        Be aware of what is going on for you emotionally.

       Be organized – preread text,

       Ask questions

       Take notes

       Highlight important information

       Read aloud (slows you down) – which allows for you to take more in.

       Write about what you just read.

 REMEMBER STAYING FOCUSED IS THE WAY IN WHICH YOU WILL ACCOMPLISH THE GOALS YOU WISH TO ACHIEVE AND THAT WILL HELP YOU MOVE FORWARD IN YOUR LIFE.
